“Advanced Wound Care and Ostomy Care”
Our Advanced Wound and Ostomy Care program is a comprehensive wound care program that allows patients to receive advanced treatment at home. We work in conjunction with area wound care centers to make sure the wound care is consistent.
Our program is led by Ashley Roberts, RN, BSN, CWCN. Some chronic conditions we treat are:
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Pressure ulcers/injuries
- Venous leg ulcers
- Non-healing surgical wounds
- Atypical ulcers
- Complex ostomies or fitulas
Here are some of the interventions we perform:
- Wound Vacs (negative pressure wound therapy)
- Debridement (Mechanical, Enzymatic, Autolytic)
- Multilayer compression wraps
- Antibiotic Therapies
- Instruction on pressure relief
- Ordering wound care supplies
Instructions of Proper Wound Care:
- Cleansing & assessing the wound
- Identifying signs of infection
- Applying & changing dressings or bandages
- Training family or caregivers
